Osasuna’s Bryan Zaragoza worried fans as he was forced off against Sevilla in the 77th minute of their clash on Monday night, and fans had a right to be worried, as it turned out the 23-year-old had suffered a fracture in his foot.
The winger is now expected to go under the knife to fix his foot injury, as per COPE, as he begins the first stage of his recovery. This period on the sidelines is expected to be around two months, with a return in the Spring.
This is a hammer blow for Osasuna, who saw Zaragoza as one of their more important attacking players, but Vicente Moreno will have to look within his own squad for a replacement for the coming months.
With Budimir stepping up as Osasuna’s star striker this season, there is a chance Moreno could employ a system change in order to facilitate both Budimir and Raul Garcia up top.
Regardless of how Osasuna look to approach the situation, the club is set to be without one of its most creative stars for the foreseeable future.
