After picking up all three points against West Ham United, the full Newcastle United focus is now on Sunday.
At the same time though, that win puts us up to sixth place in the Premier League with only 10 games remaining, level on points with Manchester City who are fifth.
It is not lost on me what an amazing job Eddie Howe has done at the club.
Combined with new owners, Newcastle United are now a genuine top six/top eight Premier League club, able to challenge year after year and also string together good cup runs.
It wasn’t that long ago when a trip to the London Stadium would be filled with dread!
Win or lose on Sunday, it is important to take a minute to remember where we used to be as a club.
It’s all too easy to forget that the club was an empty shell when the owners came in, we had nothing apart, from a fanbase and a decent stadium.
Everything else to do with Newcastle United, was Championship standard or lower.
It is fair to say we have come a long way in a sport, despite it being ruled by PSR.
Of course we want to lift that trophy on Sunday and we as fans have a responsibility to get behind the lads, from the first whistle until the last, but be sure to enjoy the experience (AGAIN).
Then if you can, take a second to reflect on just how far we as a club have come in a short space of time.
We all want to win something, of course we do, I sincerely hope it is Eddie Howe who delivers it.
In my opinion he goes down as one of the most important managers/coaches in recent Newcastle United recent history, on a par with Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson.
Eddie Howe is a genius and has us competing against the top clubs in the Premier League and Europe.
