Fulham have taken an early lead in their Premier League encounter with Wolves and it's somewhat fitting that Ryan Sessegnon was the man to deliver it.

Sessegnon returned to the club where he had first risen to prominence last summer, five years after leaving for a tumultuous period with their London rivals Tottenham.

Marco Silva has used the 24-year-old sparingly since the move back to Craven Cottage, with only eight outings prior to starting Tuesday's Molineux encounter.

But Sessegnon made up for lost time by opening the scoring with little more than a minute on the clock as he slotted home from Andreas Pereira's through pass.

Fittingly, the academy graduate's first goal in any competition since October 2022 was matched by one with the Cottagers since December 2018 during his last spell.

That previous strike in a white shirt also arrived against, of all opponents, Wolves.

Maybe it was written in the stars.
