The Manchester derby takes centre stage in the Premier League this weekend
In truth, neither side is in great form heading into the game. Though it’s often said the form book counts for little in derbies and Pep Guardiola’s side will hope that’s the case after suffering a 2-0 loss to Juventus in midweek.
Man United, on the other hand, won in Europe this week but have lost their last two matches in the Premier League and that sees them start the weekend 13th in the table.
The two rivals met in the traditional curtain season-raiser back in August with City claiming the Community Shield thanks to a penalty shoot-out victory at Wembley Stadium.
Furthermore, Ruben Amorim masterminded a 4-1 Champions League win against City in his penultimate fixture as Sporting CP boss earlier in the campaign, so that should add even more intrigue to the game.
