Ruben Amorim has some big selection calls ahead of clash at the Etihad
Ruben Amorim has some big selection calls ahead of his first Manchester derby.
Mason Mount is pushing for a start after impressing off the bench when Manchester United came from behind to beat Viktoria Plzen 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.
Jonny Evans has resumed training and may come back into contention, but Leny Yoro or Noussair Mazraoui are set to start as the left centre-back.
Matthijs de Ligt has started every game under Amorim and is set to continue in the middle of the back-three, with Lisandro Martinez also likely to retain his place.
Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot seem set to be deployed at the two wing-backs.
Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte, who increasingly look like Amorim’s first-choice midfield two, are set to come back into the team after dropping to the bench on Thursday.

Bruno Fernandes was deployed deeper against Plzen but is set to return to one of the two No10 positions.
Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line after his brace against Plzen and Andre Onana will continue his goal despite his shaky displays.
Marcus Rashford is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench.
Luke Shaw remains sidelined but Amorim has no fresh injury concerns.
"I don't think so," said Amorim straight after the Plzen game. “I think everyone is going to be fit and ready to win the game.”
