Lazio are still trying to find an agreement with Empoli over Jacopo Fazzini, but they’re already eyeing Medon Berisha as a fallback option.
While Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that an agreement between the Biancocelesti and the Tuscans is relatively close, La Lazio Siamo Noi believes the gap between the two parties remains significant, with Empoli seeking €2 million in loan fees in addition to an obligation to buy clause set at €14-15 million. On the other hand, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is aiming for figures lower by €3-4M.
Therefore, the source claims that the Italian capital side is keeping alternative tracks alive, and one of them could lead to Berisha who put up a solid display when Lecce hosted Marco Baroni’s men last weekend at the Via del Mare. The 21-year-old was born and raised in Switzerland, but chose to represent Albania and Kosovo on the youth levels, before eventually declaring for Albania on the senior level.
The deep-lying playmaker started his career at BSC Young Boys before moving to Lecce in 2022. While his campaign was hampered by a muscle injury that kept him out of action for two months, he has recently regained his starting berth. He has thus made six appearances in Serie A, contributing with a single assist in the process. His contract with the Giallorossi is valid until June 2028.
