Chicago Fire open 'preliminary talks' with Neymar

The Chicago Fire have reportedly opened 'preliminary talks' with Brazilian superstar Neymar.

Chicago is said to be one of three MLS teams interested in signing the former PSG and Barcelona forward.

The Windy City club are said to be 'prepared' to offer Neymar a financial package on par with Lionel Messi's Inter Miami deal —$20 million salary plus sponsorship bonuses.

However, Neymar's camp is reportedly demanding a much higher figure.


Evander and Lucho Acosta potentially for sale amid new cash-based transfer market

With the new cash-based internal transfer market now in place in MLS, two high-caliber names have been mooted when it comes to players that could be purchased for big money.

Portland's MVP candidate Evander, and Cincinnati's former MVP Lucho Acosta are reportedly available for the right price.

According to Tom Bogert, Acosta is likely to leave Cincinnati this winter, while Portland are asking for $15 million for Evander.

To add to the drama, Cincinnati are said to be in the mix for Evander should Acosta find a new home before the 2025 campaign.


Austin FC close in on third record-signing in six months

Austin FC have reportedly 'agreed a deal' for Granada winger Myrto Uzuni, according to Tom Bogert.

The Albanian international has scored 49 goals in 106 games for the Spanish club, and will reportedly cost Austin $12.3 million — a club-record deal.

It would be the third time in six months that Austin has set a new club-record for a transfer fee.


Chicago Fire 'finalizing deal' for Jonathan Bamba

While they work on the Neymar deal, Chicago are reportedly also closing in on Celta Vigo winger Jonathan Bamba, who would join the club as a Designated Player.

The Ivory Coast international has scored just five goals in 41 appearances for the Spanish club, but is best known for his time at Lille where he bagged 64 goal contributions over five years in France.


Holstein Kiel complete signing of NYRB full-back John Tolkin

German club Holstein Kiel have officially completed the signing of New York Red Bulls left-back John Tolkin.

Kiel have reportedly doled out $3 million for the American, plus the Red Bulls will retain a percentage of any sell-on fee.

Tolkin played a key role in the the Red Bulls' run to the MLS Cup Final in 2024.


New England Revolution submit bid for Israel International Ilay Feingold

The Revs have reportedly submitted a bid for Israel and Maccabi Haifa right-back Ilay Feingold. The bid is said to be in the region of $2 million but nothing has been agreed.

The 20-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Israeli club this season.


Cruz Azul in 'advanced negotiations' for LAFC star Mateusz Bogusz

Liga MX giants Cruz Azul are reportedly in 'advanced negotiations' for LAFC star Mateusz Bogusz.

This revelation comes from insider César Luis Merlo, who has stated that Cruz Azul see the Polish forward as potential reinforcements for the 2025 campaign.

The 23-year-old has 18 goals and 11 assists in 60 MLS appearances for LAFC.


New England Revolution sign MLS journeyman Maxi Urruti

The Revolution continue their offseason rebuild as they've added a striker with more than a decade's worth of MLS experience.

Urruti has bagged 109 goal contributions across stints with five different MLS teams, most recently plying his trade with Argentine outfit Atlético Platense.

The 33-year-old will sign with New England for the 2025 season, with an option for 2026.


Eryk Williamson completes Charlotte FC move

Experienced midfielder Eryk Williamson has completed a move from the Portland Timbers to Charlotte FC in exchange for up to $350,000 in allocation money.

The American made 100 MLS appearances for the Timbers, scoring six goals and providing 20 assists in that time.

The 27-year-old was once seen as burgeoning star in the USMNT midfield ranks before a run of successive knee injuries derailed the last few years of his career.
