One former Chelsea player has come out and had a bit of a dig at how Enzo Maresca has got his team playing football lately.

The news comes after Chelsea were defeated by Arsenal in the Premier League yesterday, losing to a first half headed goal by Mikel Merino.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in for THIRD Sporting player this summer after two agreements made!

The game was obviously not without its drama and Chelsea fans saw what they expect to see every time Robert Sanchez starts, and that is him making a silly mistake and giving away a goal. This time he got lucky, but Maresca continued to back his goalkeeper at the full time whistle once again.

Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was seen mocking Maresca on the side lines in an interaction that has annoyed Blues fans even more.

All in all it wasn’t a good performance from Chelsea and it lacked intensity, desire, energy, and any kind of real belief that they could get something from the game.

But Chelsea have been highly criticised by fans and pundits on the boring and slow style of football that we see under Maresca.

Leboeuf now unhappy

Frank Leboeuf speaking on ESPN about a disappointing Chelsea result.

For Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf never holds his feelings back, and he has given them on current Chelsea again after the Arsenal defeat.

Speaking on ESPN FC in words picked up by SPTC, Frank Leboeuf said: “We don’t see a reaction from Mr Maresca. I’m very disappointed. He found a way to make Chelsea be attractive, I think results before December. Since December, he came back to where he wanted to go in the pre-season, keeping the ball. They completed 441 passes today for half of a chance of shooting.

“We love Newcastle, we have to give credit to Newcastle. We love Liverpool. Why? They go forward, they go vertical, they don’t keep the ball, they don’t try to play horizontal, they don’t try to play tiki-taka, which is the most boring game ever if you don’t create at the end.”
