The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have set sights on a new profile to reinforce the club’s defensive ranks.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
It has been common knowledge for some time now that the brass at Real Madrid are on the lookout for fresh blood at centre-half.
Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is currently concerningly short on central defensive options, after the club’s summer pursuit of Lille sensation Leny Yoro proved fruitless.
The scouting department at the Santiago Bernabéu, in turn, have kicked into gear a search for alternative targets.
And, amidst as much, one new name has recently come to the fore, front and centre.
The player in question? Castello Lukeba.
Lukeba, for his part, is a 21-year-old senior France international, who is currently making a name for himself as one of the standout young stoppers in Germany, with RB Leipzig.
And, as per a report from Fabrizio Romano (as cited by Madrid Zone on ‘X’), such efforts have piqued the attentions of those at the aforementioned Real Madrid, who are closely monitoring his development, with a view to a future bid.
