The Copa del Rey is often a platform for memorable moments, but for Deportiva Minera, it has also brought disappointment following their recent clash with Real Madrid.
The modest team from the Second Federation suffered a 0-5 defeat, but the result is certainly not the only reason the day ended on a sour note.
Reports from Radio Murcia (h/t MARCA) reveal that several shirts given by Real Madrid players to their opponents have mysteriously disappeared.
It is standard practice for Real Madrid to provide souvenir shirts to their opponents before matches, ensuring each player has a memento from the occasion.
Deportiva Minera had informed Real Madrid of the number of shirts required so that every player could receive one, even beyond the usual post-match exchanges between players on the pitch.

However, after the match, when the Deportiva Minera players went to retrieve their allocated shirts, they were met with an unpleasant surprise. Several of the shirts had gone missing.
Sources indicate that at least four players from the Minera squad were left empty-handed, while another four had to settle for shirts from different Real Madrid players than the ones they had originally requested.
The situation has caused significant disappointment within Deportiva Minera, as this was a historic occasion for the small club.
The missing shirts have overshadowed what should have been a day to remember. It is believed that the individual or individuals responsible for taking the shirts must have had full access to the facilities.
This unfortunate incident has left a bitter taste for Deportiva Minera, who had been looking forward to cherishing the memory of facing one of the biggest football clubs in the world.
While the match itself was already a difficult challenge, this off-pitch issue has further dampened the experience for the players and staff.
