Tosin Adarabioyo has shared what the Chelsea squad discuss after being asked about whether the Blues are in a title race.

Chelsea have made a great start to the season and currently find themselves fourth, although a win against Ipswich on Monday night would seem them move up to second.

The defeat to Fulham on Boxing Day was just the third of the campaign and the Blues remain on track to qualify for the Champions League.

Tosin shares what the Chelsea squad discuss

Chelsea’s start to the season has seen them become part of the title race conversation although one point from their last two games has seen them lose ground.

Enzo Maresca has consistently played down that his team are title contenders, whilst Nicolas Jackson revealed he didn’t even look at the league table.

The Blues are well ahead of expectations and will be hoping for a very strong second half of the campaign, which they hope will end with a top four finish and silverware.

Tosin was asked about the title race in a recent interview, but instead of answering outright he shared what the Chelsea squad do discuss.

“What we do talk about is the growth that we’ve made this season since the gaffer came in, and the amazing changes he’s made and the system that we’re playing,” he told Sky Sports.

“And we’re taking each step as it comes literally. And we go into each game thinking, we need to perform in this game and try to get three points.”

Maresca has done very well to manage expectations so far, and the last thing Chelsea want to do is create unrealistic expectations for the remainder of the campaign.

The aim for the Blues this season should be to return to the Champions League and win the Conference League before looking to mount a serious title challenge next season.
