Barcelona star rejects option to terminate contract | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is continuing to reject the idea of bringing an early end to his contract with the club.

That’s according to a whole host of sources in the Spanish media on Saturday, who point towards Iñigo Martínez as the player in question.

Stopper Iñigo, for his part, has long seen his future in Catalunya’s capital thrown up in the air.

As much comes with the Spaniard’s biggest supporter, in Xavi, having of course been sent on his way by the Barcelona brass.

The 33-year-old’s place in the plans of the incoming Hansi Flick, amid something of a logjam at the heart of defence in the Blaugrana’s squad, has in turn been labelled as altogether more unclear.

Amid such uncertainty, Iñigo will be afforded the chance to unilaterally terminate his contract at the Camp Nou on Sunday, should he not be registered by Barca for La Liga.

The no-nonsense defender, however, has absolutely no intention of pursuing as much.

As per journalist Adrian Sanchez, amongst others, Iñigo remains fully committed to the Blaugrana cause, and has no plans to depart this summer.
