Chelsea are unlikely to sack Enzo Maresca as the end of the season despite speculation about his future according to reports.
The Italian was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor last summer after guiding Leicester to the Championship title.
Maresca signed a five year contract at Stamford Bridge and made a brilliant start to life in west London, with the Blues finding themselves in the title conversation around Christmas.
However, since then things haven’t gone to plan for the Blues, who were dumped out of both domestic cups early, and are now in a fierce battle to qualify for Champions League football.
Chelsea are on track to win the Conference League, but qualifying for the Champions League isn’t a given, whilst Maresca’s style of play has come in for criticism in recent weeks.
Missing out on Europe’s Premier club competition for a third consecutive year would be a disaster for the Blues, with some thinking it would be a sackable offence for Maresca.
Maresca is on course to win the Conference League and qualify for the Champions League.
However, Football Insider have reported the Blues aren’t planning to sack the 45-year-old at the end of the season.
The report adds Maresca is part of the long term plans at Stamford Bridge as they search for some stability in the dugout.
It’s previously been reported Chelsea feel Maresca can become one of the best in the industry, and the former Leicester man is very popular with the players.

Maresca is said to be involved in planning for the summer window already and barring a complete disaster in the final weeks of the season, making another change would seem very counter productive.
The Blues currently sit fourth, although they are level on points with Newcastle who have a game in hand, and it looks like the race for Champions League qualification will go down to the final day.
