Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has broken records in the Fantasy Premier League world already ahead of the 2024/25 season, it has been announced.

Haaland has surpassed a number of all-time Premier League greats priced at £14.0M on the platform in recent seasons, including himself off the back of his record-breaking debut season in the English top-flight.

Previous players to have been priced at the astronomical valuation of £14.0M include Thierry Henry in both the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons, Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008/09, and Robin Van Persie in 2013/14.

However, the big price set out on Erling Haaland last season did not put off players of Fantasy Premier League, with his potential for staggering points totals meaning he was still the most-popular player in Fantasy for the vast majority of the campaign.

Upon completion of the 2023/24 season, Haaland held an ownership across Fantasy Premier League in excess of 73 per cent, over 21 per cent more than any other player in the game, with a total of 217 points across the season.

Now, as confirmed by Fantasy Premier League on Thursday, Erling Haaland has made history on the platform by becoming the most-expensive player of all-time ahead of the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Norwegian international and Manchester City’s superstar striker has been priced at a whopping £15.0M for those wishing to include the 23-year-old in their team for the new season.

With Manchester City looking to strengthen their playing squad further, and subsequently offer more attacking threat and delivery for Erling Haaland up-front, players are likely to invest in the forward regardless of his price tag.

The Norwegian’s 121 shots, 114 shots in the box, 55 big chances and 57 shots on target were all more than any other player in 2023/24, and while he still recorded a points total of 217, it was less than the 272 points recorded in his debut season at the Etihad Stadium.

Many players will also be boosted by the idea of Erling Haaland’s pre-season preparations being maximised this summer, with the forward not taking part in any international commitments and being expected to report for City duties from next week.
