Capello spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via FCInterNews.

There is little doubt that Inter head into next season as the favourites to win the Serie A title.

That does not mean that the competition for it may not be fiercer next time around.

The likes of AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli have all had summers of big change. They know that they fell far short last season and have to work to catch up with Inter at the top.

But for the Nerazzurri, the priority has been more to keep the team together.

Barring any big surprises, Inter are not going to lose any big name players who were regulars in the starting eleven last campaign.

And on the contrary, Inter are using the summer transfer window to strengthen.

All of Mehdi Taremi, Josep Martinez, and Piotr Zielinski have already arrive. And there will likely be one or two more signings from the defending Italian champions.

Capello: Inter Milan “Still The Most Complete Squad In Serie A”

“Inter were the most complete team of the lot in May,” Capello said. “At the end of last season.

“And they still are today. After the first few weeks of the transfer window.”

Capello noted, “In fact, we can safely say that they’ve already strengthened further with the signings of Josep Martinez, Piotr Zielinski, and Mehdi Taremi they’ve already strengthened further.”

He argued that Inter “are still leading the chase in Serie A.”

“On a technical level, Inzaghi’s squad isn’t lacking anything.”

“Even though I read that they’re still looking for a left-sided defender. Will it be Cabal from Verona as has been rumoured?”

“He can fit into the squad,” Capello predicted of Cabal.

“Inter already have their starters.”

“They can refine the squad, a few small adjustments, and it’s done. Even in attack with Taremi – although I wouldn’t rule out a surprise if Correa or Arnautovic leaves.”
