Veteran goalkeeper Matthew Ryan is on the verge of becoming the third transfer signing for Roma this summer.
Earlier this evening, the Giallorossi reached an agreement with the Australian free agent, whose one-and-a-half year contract with AZ Alkmaar expired last month.
The Dutch side were keen to re-sign him to a new deal, however, sporting director Max Huberts deemed his wage demands excessive, as the club walked away from negotiations.
The 32 year-old goalkeeper will sign a one-year deal with an option for two more years, reports Fabrizio Romano. Additionally, Ryan is scheduled to undergo his medical with Roma on Tuesday.
He’ll serve as Roma’s back-up goalkeeper behind first-choice Mile Svilar.
