‘Not a coincidence’ – Carlo Ancelotti names Real Madrid star he is ‘really grateful’ for | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday moved to reveal his appreciation for a leading member of his midfield setup, in Aurélien Tchouaméni.

This comes as Tchouaméni continues to fill in at the back, despite having repeatedly made clear his preference for lining out in the middle of the park.

The Frenchman, for his part, has taken his place at the heart of Real Madrid’s defence in each of the club’s last two outings.

And, on both occasions, the former Monaco man impressed, en route to victories over Girona and Atalanta.

Tchouaméni has for his part come under heavy criticism across the season to date, from Blancos fans and the media alike.

Speaking on the eve of his side’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano, the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, made use of the opportunity to send some well-earned praise the way of his versatile midfield star:

“I’m really grateful to Aurélien Tchouaméni because he’s playing out of position and he’s doing it very well. We won against Girona and Atalanta with Aurélien… and it’s not a coincidence.”
