Arrigo Sacchi feels Inter have become ‘dominant’ but insists the Nerazzurri and their coach Simone Inzaghi must have the same attitude in Serie A and Champions League.

The Nerazzurri secured a comfortable 3-0 win over strugglers Cagliari on Saturday, moving one point behind table leaders Atalanta with a game in hand.

“Inter’s win in Cagliari proved that Inzaghi’s team has become dominant,” Sacchi wrote in his Gazzetta dello Sport column on Sunday.

“They don’t give the opponent a chance to react. Okay, the gulf between the two teams is enormous and one Inter player costs as much as the entire Cagliari squad, but winning games is never easy.

“Inzaghi let the opponents take it all out in the first half to hit them in the second half. After the opener, we saw all the differences between the two teams, even though I want to praise Cagliari for how they fought.

“Inter have been on a high level in Italy and Europe and have acquired those certainities that allow them to dominate matches,” continued Sacchi.

“When they take the lead, they don’t track back, they don’t protect the result, but they want to score one more.

“The important thing is that Inzaghi’s men are always convinced to dominate proceedings in Serie A and Champions League because I think they have what it takes to go all the way in the European competition.”
