RKC Waalwijk have only won one game all season. The side are rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie table with just five points from 13 games. They travel to the Abe Lenstra Stadion in Heerenveen on Friday night hoping to grab just a second win of the season. Even if they do manage to win, they would still be in the bottom two, three points off of Sparta Rotterdam in the relegation play off spot.

The home side have not had the best start to the season either. They have won four of their opening 13 games and sit in 12th place with 14 points. Robin van Persie’s side lost their most recent game 3-0 against his former side Feyenoord. The former Manchester United forward recently reintroduced Andries Noppert as the sides number one keeper, having created competition for the number one spot between Noppert and Micky van der Hart to start the season. Despite their indifferent start to the season, the side should be confident of winning on Friday evening. They have the fourth best home record in the league with four wins and two draws from six games. They have scored 11 at home, conceding just three.

RKC Waalwijk have the second worst away record, with Heerenveen having the worst. Waalwijk have picked up just one point from six games on their travels, scoring six goals and conceding 19. 32-year-old Richard van der Venne leads the side with four goals in six games and grabbed one of these and an assist in the sides recent 2-2 draw with Heracles. Despite their struggles, the side are actually on a semi-decent run of form. They have only lost two of their last five games, winning two (one in the cup against Vitesse) and drawing one.

For many, both Waalwijk and Almere City appear to be certainties for relegation this season given how poor they have both been in the Eredivisie.
