Troy Parrott not at patch on Irish teammate Adam Idah and is sold for £6.7m

We already know how much Rodgers wants the return of Idah to the club. We also know that a lowball offer has been refused quite rightly by Norwich City.

This has infuriated many within our support, with the amount of available money at our disposal, a fact that will not be lost on the Norwich board. But there is a potential case of such a deal for Idah facing further complications with developments today.

Many within our support, possibly wouldn’t be to familiar with the name of Troy Parrott. Yet many within our Irish ranks will know all about him.

The reason is Troy Parrott has been sold from Spurs to AZ for £6.7 million.

Troy Parrott also represents the Republic at international level, within a very poor international team. Anyone who suffers with the Republic international team, like myself, will have noticed that Troy Parrott very rarely can get himself a starting position in our poor team.

Even his loan exploits with numerous clubs haven’t been to fruitful within his career to date either, I would say. Yet £6.7 million he is regarded to be worth, and this with his career further down the line than Adam Idah’s.

Most Irish supporters will still claim Idah is a far better player than Parrott, and he stands to be far more involved within the Irish set up than Parrott.

Surely Norwich would be well aware of such developments also?

So can we expect to be getting Idah for the £6 Million figure now, as the amount that been floated around now as the asking price, around £1.5m higher than Celtic’s latest lowball offer?

Hopefully we have agreed a fee for Idah and this potential deal is further down the road, than we actually have heard of so far. Yet my fear is that the developments of the deal involving Parrott, could mean that a deal for Idah could have some way still to go, especially with the amount of money involved could be growing if the news of Parrott’s transfer is anything to go by.
