Marcus Rashford was allegedly not impressed by Jadon Sancho's "freedom" comment on his latest social media post.
Rashford departed Manchester United on loan in January and made his first appearance for Aston Villa at the weekend, and his first post celebrating the occasion found its way on to the feed of Sancho, who sealed his own loan away from United last summer in a deal which includes a permanent transfer to Chelsea.
A one-word comment from Sancho - "Freedom" - has attracted plenty of criticism from United fans, and the Daily Mail state Rashford was not a fan either.
While Sancho's time at United has already effectively come to an end, Rashford may still have a future with the Red Devils. His Villa loan only includes a £40m option to buy, rather than obligation, and it is claimed that Rashford does not want to do anything to strain his relationship with the club or its fans.
Plenty of former United players have weighed in on the debate. Ex-goalkeeper Ben Foster told his YouTube channel: "What is he doing? That's ridiculous because he is still actually employed by Manchester United, so is Marcus Rashford. It just reeks of toxicity at United. It reeks of an unhappy place to be, that everybody's buzzing for someone to get out."

Legendary former centre-back Rio Ferdinand took a different approach, highlighting how many recent departures from United have gone on to flourish elsewhere.
"You look at Antony, he's got a man-of-the-match performance and a goal and assist in two games," Ferdinand told his podcast. "[Scott] McTominay is playing like primetime Jude Bellingham at the moment. You've got [Anthony] Elanga, who's a flying winger.
"You've got all these players that are leaving the club that are looking like new, dynamic football players because the shackles are off, and the cloud and the pressure of Old Trafford, the badge, all that that brings, is allowing them to go, 'You know what, wow, what a difference that is'.
"You're probably going to see the same from Marcus."
