West Bromwich and Watford clash this Saturday at The Hawthorns in Matchweek 42 of the EFL Championship.
The Baggies currently lie in 8th position with 57 points, but their recent form of late has been shoddy - their cause not helped by conceding a last-minute goal in a 2-1 reverse at play-off rivals Bristol City midweek.
Watford are actually right on the Baggies' tail at the moment in 10th position. In their last game, Tom Cleverley's Hornets won 1-0 against Hull and the Hertfordshire side desperately need to win this one if they are to entertain hopes of a late surge into the play-offs.
AllAlbionFans : This is as close to a Must Win game as you can get without it actually being Must Win. It’s almost a certainty we’ve got to win four of our remaining five games and we have Coventry City away on Good Friday.
13 wins in the league this season and we just can’t get over the line at the moment. We’ve had three tough games in a row where fans have almost expected results due to points we shouldn’t have dropped earlier this season.
Molumby is unavailable after being sent off although we have appealed. His direct replacement Diakite picked up a knock and is out. In defence, Heggem is only training today at best and shouldn’t start, but it may be a necessary risk.
We seem to have a wealth of attacking options that any Championship club would love to have but just cannot find the right combinations to create clear chances.
Watford seem very similar to us in that their home record is good, but away they don’t perform. It’s the first time we’ve been odds on to win in a month. The Hornets have lost the majority of their away games and that needs to continue to keep realistic hopes alive for the Baggies.
Golden Pages (Golden Pages Fanzine ): The midweek win over strugglers Hull proved that there is some fight left in this Watford team. The Hornets team limps to the season finale in the wake of some positive displays from the contingent of under 20s in the squad, playing alongside some old heads that still have something left in the tank aftee a gruelling season. The last few games represent opportunity to get minutes for those expected to step up next season.
A victory at The Hawthorns may be a step too far for Tom Cleverley's band of plucky hopefuls, but they'll certainly give it a go. Still surprisingly close to the top-6, the mood in the camp is one of looking to next season, with anything else a bonus.
