Lewis Miley named fans’ Player of the Match after win against Bromley | OneFootball

An eighth consecutive win in all competitions saw Newcastle United reach round four of the Emirates FA Cup, downing Bromley 3-1 at St. James’ Park.

The Magpies had to do it the hard way, coming from behind with goals from Lewis Miley, Anthony Gordon, and William Osula.

And it was 18-year-old Miley, making his first senior start since February 2024, who most impressed supporters. He garnered a huge 80% of the vote for Player of the Match across newcastleunited.com and the Official Newcastle United App.

Not only did Miley score a wonderful goal from 25 yards, but he showed total dominance on the ball. His 133 touches eclipsed every other player on the pitch, while he completed 110 successful passes.

In addition to his goal, he also created five chances for team-mates.

Miley was awarded Emirates Player of the Match by BBC Sport co-commentator Paul Robinson.

William Osula earned 12% of the vote, after scoring his first goal for the club.

The vote was completed by Anthony Gordon (6%), who came off the bench to score a penalty and put United into the lead, and Matt Targett (3%), who won the penalty and garnered an assist from his six chances created.
