After two years with Go-Ahead Eagles, head coach René Hake has left the club to join Erik Ten Hag’s staff at Manchester United. Go-Ahead Eagles have released a statement that thanks Hake for the work he has done for the club in such a short space of time. After leading the side to an 11th placed finish in the Eredivisie during his first season, the head coach led the side into the European play-offs where they beat both NEC and Utrecht. As a result, the side have qualified for the preliminary rounds of the Europa Conference League for the 2024/2025 season. Go-Ahead will face Brann over two legs, with the first being on the 25th of July.

Hake joins another former Eredivisie head coach in joining up with Ten Hag in Manchester. Former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has returned to a club where he was a fan favourite to take up a coaching role for the 2024/2025 Premier League campaign.
