There are still some days left till the January transfer window begins, and FC Barcelona are already aware of the objectives that they will have to achieve in this window.
There are no new arrivals expected in the team, as the Blaugranes will be focusing primarily on the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor with La Liga.
However, there was some uncertainty about departures, and Ansu Fati was one of the players who was linked with a move away from Barcelona in January as the Catalans wanted to free up some salary space and also wanted the winger to join another side to gain more prominence.
Since returning to Barcelona last summer, Fati has not had a lot of minutes under Hansi Flick, and the player himself understands that he is also not expected to have the desired prominence in the team in the second half of the season as well.
His situation in the team has already been conveyed to Fati and his entourage for some weeks now, and the Catalans have given them full liberty to decide if he wants to stay without much chance of minutes on the pitch or leave for another team on loan. The Blaugranes are also willing to facilitate him as much as possible if he picks the latter option.
However, according to SPORT, Barcelona understands that Fati is more inclined to choose the former option today, as he wants to continue and keep fighting for more minutes.
Furthermore, the lack of any suitable offers for him also compels the La Masia graduate to remain at Barcelona in January.
However, things will be quite different in the next summer transfer window, as the Blaugranes will not be counting on him for their next campaign, and it will be in the best interest of Fati to leave and join another side.
